Dermatology as a science, as a clinical art, and as the shared memory of those who built it.
Dr. Jaime Piquero-Martín earned his medical degree from the University of Carabobo in the early 1970s and built his career as a dermatologist in Caracas, where he has practiced in the Department of Dermatology at Clínica Sanatrix.
His work combines clinical practice with extensive academic activity: author of a book on rosacea, invited speaker at international dermatology congresses, and author of numerous papers in national and international journals.
In recent years he has devoted himself to documenting the history of dermatology in Venezuela, paying tribute to the masters who shaped the specialty, among them Dr. Jacinto Convit and Prof. Francisco Kerdel-Vegas.

Dr. Piquero-Martín’s vocation lives on in the next generation: his children and son-in-law also practice dermatology, in Venezuela and Spain, and have collaborated with him on research and publications.
